“Where there is great love there are always miracles.” Willa Cather
As you enter today — in whatever kind of silence you can find—think of the love you have observed, known, and—hopefully, experienced. What did that love allow you to do? Where did it bring forth the miracle of tranquility, of hope, of encouragement, and of courage?
What miracles will you create today?
…and we need encouragement so we too can make history!
“The well of Providence is deep. It’s the buckets we bring to it that are small.”
Mary Webb.
Mary Webb was an English romantic novelist and poet of the early 20th century.
“Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself and know that everything in life has a purpose.” Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, M.D. (July 8, 1926 – August 24, 2004) was a Swiss-born psychiatrist and the author of the groundbreaking book On Death and Dying. Her five stages of grief was a ground-breaking explanation for understanding all changes in life. She moved to New York in 1958 and continued her work from there.
Janet Wood Reno (born July 21, 1938) is the former Attorney General of the United States (1993–2001) and the first woman to hold this position as well as the second longest serving Attorney General since William Wirt in 1829.
During her tenure as Attorney General, Reno oversaw such events as the Branch Davidians stand off in Waco, Texas, the capture and conviction of the Unabomber, the Oklahoma City bombers, and the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing.
On April 17, 2009, Reno was awarded the Justice Award by the American Judicature Society. Eric Holder Jr, Attorney General under the Obama Administration presented Reno the award. Seth Andersen, Executive Vice President of AJS said the award recognizes “her commitment to improving our systems of justice and educating Americans about our great common enterprise — to ensure equality under the law.” The award is the highest given by the AJS, and recognizes significant contributions toward improvements in the administration of justice within the United States.
I have had the pleasure of meeting Janet Reno when she attended the WASP (Women Air Force Service Pilots) reunions on behalf of her aunt, Winifred Wood –a WASP and an author.
